The Story So Far…
The Auld Enemy Dinner (AED), now in its 10th year, is the brainchild of ex-Scotland internationalist Stuart Reid and is staged in partnership with Glengoyne Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
The AED is held on the eve of the Calcutta Cup fixture, where past players from both sides of the great divide come together socially, and celebrate the oldest fixture in the world along with supporters. The Calcutta Cup is unique; it’s about passion; it’s about rivalry and it’s about winning at all costs and defeating the “Auld Enemy”.
The AED’s combination of great venues, great food and great entertainment in the presence of some of the games greatest players has proved a huge hit, with all eight dinners to date a sell out.
In addition to the friendly rugby rivalry and banter the AED has raised in excess of £700,000 for some wonderful charities.
